bumping in to people from high school
I ran into a girl I knew from highschool tonight. She was working at a 7/11. She was doing this full time as "career" and I am at university. About half our graduatin class went to university.
Whenever I see people I know from high school and there life is headed no where I always get the feeling they resent me for being successful. Is this in my head, or is there something to this? Is it common for people stuck in [censored] jobs to resent people who are more successful, especially if they have known them in the past? |

Do they teach people the difference between "their" and "there" at 7/11?

Re: bumping in to people from high school
I have never thought that they may resent me, maybe its because I am too busy thinking of what to bring up that won't make light of the fact that they are stuck in a crap job and have two kids.

Do they teach people the difference between "their" and "there" at 7/11? [/ QUOTE ] oooh snap. I think people who habitually feel others resent them and are jealous of them are 1. probably right that people resent them, though not for the reasons they think, and 2. jealous or status-obsessed themselves most of the time. Kind of like people who are always concerned about liars are often the most dishonest you will meet. Most people project their insecurities and flaws onto others. NT |

Re: bumping in to people from high school
most of the ones I know who didn't go to University, are actually working at pretty good good jobs. Most of my friends who DID go to University are actally resenting them, for having the headstart in the workforce.
And university != sucess. |
