from 25/25 lev 1 to 25/50 lev 1 is not doubling the blinds.

a few people in here say that stacks are doubled and also blinds are doubled so in essence, nothing changes, but lets take a look.
Last year $1500 1500 chips, first level 25/25, 2nd 25/50, 3rd 100/200, 4th 100/200a25 and so on. This year the $1500 is 3000 chips, first level is 25/50, 2nd is 50/100, 3rd is 100/200, 4th is 100/200a25. The blinds are not being doubled, you get double chips and lose the first level. Unless I'm missing something, this structure is tons better.

If you look back there is (In this thread or another on the same subject) discussion of "patience factor." This is a measure based on blind out time that gives a good indication of the amount of play you'll have under any particular structure for comparison purposes. By this measure the new structures are marginally better. Far from tons. Maybe a pound or two.

For the prelim NLH events basically the small blind is smaller in the first level, the antes kick in at a higher BB multiple, and there is one extra level of play. This is a step in the right direction, but not even close to what I would call "tons better". The ME, which is what I care about most, is arguably marginally worse (if level 27 is indeed removed).
