Re: We win (AP Scandal v. 27)
Where'd the rogue geek get the loot to sit in these high stakes cash games and 1k tournaments? Did he use his own money to BR himself just to show there was a flaw in the system? Thanks for the laughs AP.

Re: We win (AP Scandal v. 27)
That's not apparent to me and it doesn't necessarily make logical sense. There was a series on TV a while back called "Breaking Vegas" that chronicled famous cheaters, how they operated, and how they were eventually caught. These documentaries were not in any way "anti-gambling". Sure, there are people in the media in the opinion columns who will make disparaging remarks about online poker in general, but most mainstream media outlets will simply want to report the story in a sensationalized form IMO.
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Also, in order to get mainstream media cable news channels to cover this in a way that is more critical of AP is impossible without it immediately launching into an attack against all online poker. Not saying whether this is a cumulative positive or negative, but I think it is all or nothing, realistically, pr-wise for online gaming as a whole. [/ QUOTE ] All, Understand me very clearly when I say that this post is 100% correct and we are trying to walk a very fine line. We are not done with AP by a long shot, but we have to proceed in a way that exposes the one rotten apple in the basket and does not throw away the entire thing. As I said, expect more dramabombs. However, do not expect the media to be able to savage AP without also savaging online poker *until* AP is fully exposed as a rogue operator. That would be unrealistic, since the only way they can do a balanced story is by letting AP respond, however stupidly. In the meantime, we are doing our best to get there without upsetting the apple cart. [/ QUOTE ] |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Digg it fellas... http://www.digg.com/world_news/ABC_N...fe_Think_Again [/ QUOTE ] Digging that article is horrible IMO because of it's broad sensationalist title. Also the author should stab himself in the knee with a rusty spork for his opener. [/ QUOTE ] That was only Digg's title. ABC did not read like that. [/ QUOTE ] Look at the title bar in your browser. It came from ABC. [/ QUOTE ] But, if you click on DIGG's link to the story you do not see the ...safe... title anywhere. It was Digg that put that in there. |

The ABC article isn't terrible, its just that the MSNBC one is much better and more accurate.

[ QUOTE ] my 2cents, as a 4 year AP player (if that matters) ok, so AP releases bits a pieces of information to the public through ABC, MSNBC, Gambling911.com that was not first told to pocketfives and 2p2. They gather everyones responses/reactions (from the board here) to these new bits to figure out exactly which angle the community will accept, they edit their upcomming statement which is now tailored to everyones expectations. [/ QUOTE ] I could totally see them doing that. side note: BURN AP BURN!!!! [/ QUOTE ] Has no one mentioned this possibility before? I think there's a high likelihood that's what they're doing. |
