Re: i fold a set. flame on.
But I don't know villain if he never bluffs the river then bet/fold is good. No way it's my standard here though

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] check riv = bad [/ QUOTE ]. Bet/fold also seems bad unless villain is never bluffing here [/ QUOTE ] hard to see many hands he would be bluffing with here besides 56 [/ QUOTE ] A weaker aces pp's, it's hard for hero to call here with less than a set. But if you are folding sets routinely here then pushing most rivers vs hero becomes an awesome strategy any time a visible draw hits [/ QUOTE ] It's too bad hero wouldn't be able to adjust. Sucks he has to keep folding sets on the river to the same villain over and over. Also, it's amazing that even though hero is folding the river villain knows he has a set. That is some serious ownage. |

Also, it's amazing that even though hero is folding the river villain knows he has a set. That is some serious ownage. [/ QUOTE ] I said with "less" than a set. I in no way indicated villain is some how mysteriously placing your holding on exactly a set. If you consider your opponent estimating your folding/calling range "amazing" then either this is some huge donk you're playing vs or you need to consider what villain is thinking more closely. There are other reasons people raise rivers aside from "zomg value". But, you guys seem to have awesome reads on villains river bluffing frequency which I do not have, so bet/fold if you think that is best. Maybe it is, I've been wrong before. |

Re: i fold a set. flame on.
Ya I understand what you're saying and I used to think like that. I'd be like wow if this guy knew I was folding this I would be so exploiatable but the thing that protects you is every other calling station that plays mid stakes. Hardly anybody would fold the river enough for villain to consistently makes this play.
So unless villain had a sick read, I think OP can safely fold here until villain starts doing this a lot in similar spots. Basically, what I'm saying is it's better to error on the side of folding and adjust rather than the other way around. |

Re: i fold a set. flame on.
Villains line up until the river is also consistent with KK/QQ/JJ/TT along with the other holdings I previously mentioned It's not just flush draws.

Re: i fold a set. flame on.
What hands is he bluffing here? Hardly anyone at this level is good/ballsy enouh to turn a weak Ace or mid pp into a bluff here imo.

Re: i fold a set. flame on.
You don't beat anything and villain hardly ever bluffs air here. The only draw he might call the turn with got there.Good fold.
