Default Zelda Twight Princess Help

Ok, just started playing this game and the whole fishing thing is pissing me off.

I am probably overlooking something simple, but I am really not getting it.
I've tried it for about 25 minutes or so, and I have not gotten one real bite yet. I have not see the words fish on, I do not Know what I am doing wrong.

Can anyone guide me through this?
I want to get this cat a fish so i can finally go and play the damn game!

god I suck

You have to throw it where there are fish swimming around. Let it sit there until the bobber starts sinking, then jerk the remote up.

You can catch a fish without bait, in fact I think you have to do it this way before you get a jar, right?

This is the way it is.
You don't get a Jar until you catch the two fish to let the cat run home, then the bitch gives you a jar.

I finally figured it out, I think I was letting my bobber sink too low before jerkin.

Finally got thru it and am now about to slaughter a monkey!

The more I get used to the controls the more fun i'm having. Nintendo definatley greated a good system.

Yeah, I just played through OoT on the Wii VC, and while I'm sure I didn't have the wide-eyed wonder of people who would be blown away with a 3d Zelda and the "amazing" graphics for their day, I didn't like it as much as TP. I sorely missed the point and shoot controls for firing my arrows. I also loved loved loved the advanced swordplay mechanics of TP. I think the special moves you learn as you progress add to the game tremendously. I also think that the iron boots mechanic where you'll be walking on the ceiling and such to solve puzzles was brilliant. I had a whole lot of fun playing that level.
