SB: $60.30
BB: $9.45
UTG: $19.50
<font color="black">Hero (CO): $58.10</font>
BTN: $102.67

<font color="black">Preflop:</font> Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 Players)
UTG calls $0.50, <font color="red">Hero raises to $1.50</font>, BTN calls $1.50, SB calls $1.25, BB calls $1.00, UTG folds

<font color="black">Flop:</font> ($6.50) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 Players)
<font color="red">SB bets $7.00</font>, BB folds,Hero ???

I got solidly berated by teh table for this one.

Villain is 18/12/3 TAG.

What to do? and why?

also you have to [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG's Limp fold with those pot odds.

I'll explain my thinking and the post the turn a little later.

I dont understand why the preflop raise is so tiny.

And given the SB action, I can hardly think if a hand that makes sense here. He would probably 3bet JJ preflop, ch/r a set or a combo draw. He is not going to do this with 88. A donked overpair is very unlikely. AJ or AQ of spades probably makes the most sense.

Donk-Grunch

Is $2.50 not the standard preflop raise in this spot?

That huge donkbet is pretty confusing. AsJs, AsQs, T9s, 55, is easily in the range. Maybe AsKs, 99, TT, JJ, if he's 3betting a really small range. He could of course have air.

You say you got berated for this? Did you get it all in behind and hit your flush/boat?

Tough spot for me, but I find myself folding here most of the time. A proper raise will build a huge pot that leaves you playing for stacks by the turn with TPGK.

Ye.. But sometimes you have to go with your read/perception regardless of what you have. And I understand raising here. Probably not all the time and not against all kind of opponents, but against this viallin 25% of the time its at least not a terrible play. Worst case scenarior you will have to sit at this table for the next couple of hours and collect the moneys with monsters because people will think your an idiot.

I think it's close between raising and calling. I like a raise to about $22 though.

The preflop raise is a bit small for my tastes. A TAG donk here usually means something along the lines of 2 pair (T9), a set, flush draw or a good combo draw so when you're ahead, you're not far ahead, and when you're behind you're very behind. I would usually call and fold to further aggression on the turn. But I tend to misplay these spots.
