I would be hoping to fold out set/2-pair hands that dont have a spade.

if this guy is sort of okay but not very good, which it sounds like based on your description ("one of the best regulars"), he is never check/folding a better hand here. he's check/calling with a big made hand without a spade, or a weak flush that he already made on the turn. betting here would be criminal.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well I disagree. I think a very good player will definitely check/call here, but a "good O11 20/40 player" might make a big fold. The mid limit pro types are exactly the kind to make a "smart" play that can be very costly whereas a higher limit player will just pay the man his rivered money so that he doesn't get a bluffable image. Bet it fast Crimson and talk him into folding.

Since you didn't fold the turn I'm definitely taking a shot at this big pot. If you can make a believable autofire type of bet maybe he'll fold.

Well, no one folds this hand ever against me, you might have a different image but I don't see this bet getting calls from worse hands or folds from better ones.

what do people think about the turn?

I find most players will go for the c/r again on the turn rather than 4 bet the flop. You decide whether to open the door for them based on your willingness to either showdown or fold.

C/R's are done so predictably they've become cheezy. For many players, it's the only shot they have in the bag.

I had 97s and flopped a str on a T86 two sooted board. I got c/r'd by the SB and I 3 bet. An A came off on the turn and it went c/r 3 bet again. He had AT and paid off the river. Cheezy and dumb.
