My friend just got an around the world ticket. Do it. Get a book by Lonely Planet and go to South America, Africa, India, SE Asia etc. I'm 25 and doing all my traveling now and wish I had the resources to do it when I was your age.

I’m 19, and I can really do anything I want. With my current source of income, I could buy a laptop and travel the world for a year, “working” when I needed to

Europe is great, but don't forget about the good old US. I went to London when i was younger and it was awesome. Many years later, I drove cross country and was sorry I didn't do it earlier.

no college girls are going to be impressed with his travels through the U.S.

he needs to look at this as a personal experience, and a great way to score in college. i'm sure a lot of college girls will be quite impressed by your travels through europe and/or asia. especially the ones (and i'm betting there are a lot) that want to do it themselves.

Crimson,

Sounds to me like you want to write and you want to travel. So do both.

Travel and write semi-seriously about it. Check out "serious" food/travel bloggers to see what I mean by that.

Doesn't matter whether you write your blog accounts like a descriptive detailed tourist travel book or like a series of adventures that are exiciting to read. Just take some real time to write in what you consider to be an interesting manner.

The "Worldwide Crimson Challenge Tour" is also a possibility. Honestly, its probably hard for you go to wrong here. Go somewhere you always wanted to go. Use travel guides as a starting point only.

Why is everyone being so retarded about this 9k deal? 9k is more than enough for an unattached young adult to travel around the world. Im all for well timed sarcasm, but this anything but well timed.

I thought it was clear that the $9k was saved up, but OP would continue to generate income throughout his or her travels.

That is irrelevant. If 9K is all that is saved up, nothing substantial is likely to be generated.

We are mocking the 9K because of the unlimited potential subject. 9K is a nice vacation lasting a week, maybe two if OP doesn't have a woman to bring along.

9k is plenty for someone that doesnt need to find/do the latest and greatest wherever he inteds to go. Fine, unlimited potential is a bit of hyperbole. Quite being a bunch of nits. 9k gives him a lot of options and as I stated, should be more than sufficient for what he wants.
