All my votes happen to be similar to those games that are winning. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: **Official Greatest NES Game of All-Time** -Sweet Sixteen
What sucked the most about NES is some of the really great games don't get the love they deserve because they're not bigtime games, stuff like Little League World Series and Top Players' Tennis.

DD2>SMB2 people, wtf.
And Mega Man 1 isn't that good 12ressi. 2 and 3 are miles above it, and 4,5, and 6 may not be as good but they're more fun to play even with all of the stupid bosses. (Ring Man? Yamato Man?) |

Re: **Official Greatest NES Game of All-Time** -Sweet Sixteen
i think double dragon II is suffering from the fact that a lot of people (such as myself) only played the original. after researching it, i see DDII is probably superior because it had two player co-op mode, however, since i never played it, i ended up voting for super mario 2. in retrospect, i'd like to change my vote.
edit: also, mega man 2 is definitely the best of the series. most notable omissions from the sweet 16 are river city ransom, ninja gaiden, and rc pro-am, imo. too many marios and sports games. but hey, this is a democracy. |

Wow how is Battletoads NOT on this list... [/ QUOTE ] I'm not following these polls (I think the revised ones were MUCH better and should be up, instead), so I don't know if it was in the original 64... but, Battletoads wasn't all that great. The action was fun, and some of the moves were innovative- but damn. The game was WAY too hard for the average kid. It's nice that they put a lot of variety in it, but with the difficulty ratcheted up so high, most people never got to see a lot of the interesting levels. It certainly doesn't mean the game was bad, but I think that keeps it from being one of the very best. |

Were Zelda II or Battle of Olympus ever in the race?
Ah I see Zelda II lost to whatever the hell Tecmo Bowl is. Zelda II is SUCH an underrated game hated by people that fear change. |

[/ QUOTE ] I loved Zelda II, but Tecmo Bowl was an awesome game. I didn't vote on that one because I couldn't stand to knock out either one. |
