Default PS $60 - L1 calling a preflop raise with AQ

well,i usually am not a huge fan of calling preflop raises with AQ. villian was 29/12/1.0 full table stats. my flop check/raise obviously did not work.

I like it. 1.0 postflop aggression players may not be the most dependable for flop CR, but its not likely man yhands he raises pf can c atch up to you on the turn if you are currently winning (3 or 2 outs)

As played I like the flat call on the turn and the check/call on the river. With his stats, he can show up with AK here as well as a lucky A9/A7 or maybe 99 with the flop check behind.

Looks good, smartly played in case you are behind.

Seems fine though you are probably [censored]. Play AK this way as well imo. I mean I'd fold PF & the turn but the theory is the same. Pushing AI on the river would just be retarded unless you were going to do it anyway (wouldn't make much sense). The 2nd ace is a bad card for AQ and a really bad card for AK.

Are you advocating folding AK preflop?

I don't mind the PF call but would check/call instead of c/r the flop.

can you explain your thougths on check/call flop?

i think in this spot if the has an ace i went to get allin, if he does not have an ace he is not gonna be bluffing turn/river so no sense in giving him two free cards. unless you check/call flop and lead turn?

The main thing is that I don't want to get stacked w/ AQ in lvl 1 so I'm going to play it pretty slow.
