god that was a train wreck. here's how almost every hand went- ivey raise, aba call. aba check, ivey bet, aba call. aba check, ivey bet, aba fold. basically, any variation of aba continously calling bets and then folding later on in the hand. as to the question of how much he lost, i believe it was around 380k

Safe to say Brian will take some days off, time for another thoughtful blog post.

tough loss but thats the nature of heads up poker. I've had worse losses (in terms of buy ins) at mid-stakes HU games. I still feel brian is the best player to watch and most consistent nlhe player.

Ivey was check-raising almost every single k-high and q-high flop. He was consistently putting ridiculous amounts of money in the pot while out of position.

Is it safe to say that Ivey still rules all?

Wait Ivey's a live donk who hasn't played 89 bazillion hands. How can he possibly compete?

They've played each other heads up way more than twice, it was against Ivey that Aba did the fake misclick in this hand: http://www.pokerhand.org/?1029757 Aba won that session but Ivey's won a few others. They played a lot towards the ends of 2006 and I had Aba up $50k over 1500 hands against Ivey at $300/$600.
