His career ERA+ is 101, which is okay. But where he gets his value is he's pitched at least 216 innings each of the last 7 years. Starters who pitch lots of innings with okay ERAs are valuable because they save the team from putting in less skilled bullpen guys. I wouldn't call him formidable, but he's a pretty good 3rd starter.

I just don't know if he can count on his teamates to keep getting on base. The one thing he CAN keep up is his homerun rate of one per 2.5 ab. He hit another tonight.

He's the first Justin Upton, which hopefully will be good enough. ARod/Griffey were already starting in the Majors by this time.

He won't be up this year but if he keeps progressing and stays focused he could definetly be up next year. He's really making Carlos Gonzalez look like a bum at AA.

Upton was slowed down by the contract negotiation which is why he's a few months behind schedule. Still, if he's in the bigs by August, he'll be right on pace with those two. If not, he'll just have to settle for being the next Willie Mays.

I should of explained, I was under the impression he was the most "Can't Miss" prospect in a draft since them.
