DesertCat,

Fixed would be a best case... Dumping a 40+ pitcher who just had back surgery can't be knocked too hard.

Its not a great trade, but maybe Yanks want one year of Clemens and then look younger... will their guys they are developing. Regardless they get the bad end of the stick, but I don't think Randy holds up terribly well.

i personally think that johnson is a better bet in 07 than clemens.

does clemens even plan to pitch a full year?

anyways, i dont think that RJ being traded has all that much effect on clemens being signed by NY.

Helps a little given the crowd already but it was more about trading a pitcher who was old, coming off back surgery, and no longer wanted to be a yankee/be in new york

What have the odds changed to now that RJ is on their team? 49-1? I think you are getting way too excited over this. lol

I think that DBacks can be really good this year. They have lots of young players just getting ready to blossom, and also possibly the best rotation in baseball.

Are you kidding me? There are 16 teams in the NL, and all of them suck. The Diamondbacks play in an exceptionally weak division, giving them a good shot to make the playoffs.

Even if you assume the Diamondbacks are twice as bad as the average team (which is obviously not true), they then have a 32:1 shot at winning the NLCS from the start.

Math; it's not for everyone!

Neither is a 43-1/2 year old pitcher with a 90 mph fastball, 18 year old daughter, and ERA of 5.
