Point?
The example wasn't to show that the rankings can be bogus, but that the bowls will pick teams ranked lower if they think they can make more money.
If you think a 7th ranked Arkansas (beat LSU, lose Fla) or a highly ranked Louisville would never be passed over for a 14th ranked Oklahoma, remember, follow the money.
Kansas State wasn't bypassed because the bowls thought they were "unremarkable", they were bypassed because the bowls thought the were "unmarketable".
