DO we think this is a bluff enough of the time to call here or do we lay it down and move on? No real history with Villan.

I would lay it down. If villian was bluffing the flop he folds the turn. If villian has a straight on the turn he would likely shove Villian probably had j9 or 99xx with flush draw on flop.

he's played it exactly like a set, unknown at $100 this has to be a fold.

So, the fact I am holding a J and 4 doesn't change our thinking? There isn't a chance that he flopped the NFD and is bluffing the river? Wouldn't the NFD play very similar?

I dont think the bare NFD check/raises the flop. maybe a combo of ttp and fd or set and fd, but those hands have you beat.

so your getting like 2-1 here? I think that your behind here a lot. that was the worse river. he may bluff the NFD here, but not often enough to warrant a call. IMO the best your going to get is a split with QsTsxx.
I think its a fold.

3 things...
1. if you need to ask here, you probably should fold becasue you're in for tough decisions on later streets.
2. preflop is fine. short handed that's a good hand to play with.
3. as played I call flop and reevaluate turn. UTG puts pressure on me... I'd have to check my crystal ball but most turns will make me fold.

wtf is up with preflop and flop.

the hand is too weak to play, and you minCbet the flop (was that a misclick).

the hand is just too confusingly played for me to comment. i'd probably just muck the river. he could have played that way with a set and you are really calling for a split.
