Default Re: tool to measure distance ran?

This is the Garmin Forerunner 305, it's been terrific for me. It can show time, distance, pace, pulse, altitude, some crude maps, and a bunch of other stuff. I was worried it would be bulky on the wrist but it's fine, it basically just seems like a regular watch. Shop around for prices, they can vary >50%.

Besides wearing it for regular runs, I've also worn it during a few mellow pick-up soccer games (b/c I was curious) and it works great. I've heard that satelite reception can be an issue for some people but I've had zero problems.

edit: haha, I didn't even see in your OP that you mentioned soccer games. Hm, the truth is that I'm not sure I would wear mine during a competitive soccer game, mostly because I wouldn't want it to get too banged around (it would probably be fine, but still), and second because of the white cleats factor. Also the reception indoors might be dodgy.
