does clark post anything useful anymore? or is he just crotchety in the sports forum and mean to everybody?

not questioning his contributions to the site, just wondering b/c i can't remember the last time i saw a post from him that i thought was at all remarkable. i don't read LHE forums though.

Well, since you are Captain Hate I'm sure you're good at recognizing it.

Seriously, Clark does tend to be grouchy and maybe his best posting days are behind him, but he is also spot-on in his arguments and he is a very good contributor to the golf forum (which is the new OOT LDO since you kicked everyone out of it).

[/ QUOTE ]

I really should read that forum more often...damn.

E-Mac,

The trolling is out of control in there, I really wish you would pitch in and help once in awhile.

The more I read Clark's post, the less out of line I think he is. I can see deleting the post, but punishing Clark for having an opinion and calling somebody fat is hardly banworthy.

Common courtesy.

Call me old fashioned.

[/ QUOTE ]

I will!

If common courtesy was a standard we applied on this board, everybody including 95% of the mods would be banned.

Which side of the debate do you take, tuq? This is like the most important question i've ever asked on 2p2.

Mason and admins,

First off, as I've stated before, I don't have any problem with Mason doing whatever he wants regarding the forums. In this case, that means banning someone for saying something that is many levels under the threshold of conduct for which people are even warned. The posts Clark made, if about any individual who is not a friend of Mason's, would not even be considered for any type of punishment or moderation. Again, Mason's site, Mason's decision.

Having said that, the impression I get from Mat and Ryan in their posts here is that they are trying to expand 2+2 into more than just the poker discussion forum for 2+2 publishing, trying to build a community similar to other large online communities on the web, across a wide range of areas.

I don't believe you can really be successful at the latter if the policy is "Here are the forum rules, plus Mason/admins may at their personal discretion ban anyone for posting something they don't like, regardless of whether or not it violates any rules or policies of the forum."

Feel free to consider or ignore.

All,

"Common courtesy."

That's why entertainme thinks Clark's posts are banworthy.

I personally have been a big proponent for having certain levels of conduct when it comes to common courtesy on the forums.

Does anyone have a problem with using Clark's posts as a litmus test for banning people? In other words, if people make posts that are more offensive/insulting than Clarkmeister's, they are subject to banning.

Agreed?

If this is agreed as policy, then I retract my prior post, as it would eliminate that whole issue.

I do, it would turn modding into a 40-hr a week job.

I am guessing something else is going on here. Perhaps Mason is pissed with him about something else and decided to ban him. Of course I think baning someone like Clark is ridiculous.
