well he also had T5o amusingly enough and called my push. I was mostly unsure about the river bet but I figured it's quite possible he couldn't let go of an ace and I didn't think he'd check many hands that beat me on the river. Still not sure about it, but I think I maybe should have checked.

He made a pretty terrible call.

What do we think of villain's complete here pf? Since OP indicates villain is unknown, I would think most players in SB raise if it is folded around and BB is unknown with just about every hand that beats hero. Certainly all pps, AK, A10, K10, QJ, and maybe even K5 and A5. It seems like unless villain is incredibly passive his most likely holding is exactly 10 5, in which case hero's river push is an excellent play.

That said in the heat of the moment I probably check behind the river too.

I'd just call the turn. Your turn raise is too big IMO. It sets up a weird river spot where you only have a PSB left, so it's weird to valuebet less (and fold to a c/r), and it's weird to push here since it's tough for worst hands to call. I make it 55 on the turn or just call. Call is probably good given flop and that ugly turn card.
