Default CNN anchor salaries

How much do you think they make?
I hate how they always portray themselves as regular people "It must be nice to be able to afford that, Miles."

I don't know but am interested. I had a friend that used to pound Daryn Kagan like a hammer when she was here in Phoenix. He even banged her on Camelback Mountain once in the dark, city lights in the background. Lucky he didn't get his dick bit off by a snake...

Probably less than you think. I was a sports reporter and anchor for about five years, and the money is really, really lousy until you get to a really big market or network.

Obviously, CNN is a network, but I think you would be surprised at how little most of the on-air talent makes. The guys who start on ESPNEWS, for example, only get about $45-50K to start.

The top level anchors at CNN like Daryn Kagan, however, are probably doing very well, $300-600K I'd guess. It's really hard to get real good info about salaries in TV for some reason. People just don't talk about it much.

I have no idea, but the ones at Fox must make more. All of them seem to eventually defect from CNN to Fox.

they READ the news. Off of a teleprompter. They don't make the news, they don't investigate and discover the news. They just read it. No difference between what they do and if you were to read - outloud - this very paragraph.

If they make more than $40,000 a year (obviously, they do) it's too much.

Oversimplification.

BTW, Peter Jennings was rumored to make $10 million in 2001.

I'm not speculating on that. I'm just curious.

The best is when they can't find actual experts so they just interview each other, which has been going on more and more it seems. They all do this now. The TV stations interview the newspaper reporters. The newspaper reporters quote the TV guys. It's really awful "journalism".
