Default Avoiding short stacks

I've got to the point where I'm trying to avoid short stacks at all costs unless I've got a monster hand preflop. Say someone with 20bb raises it up to 4bb and it comes round to me in CO and I have AQo I'd most likely just fold it because I don't want to get involved in a hand were the most I can win is 20bb. I'd probably even fold AKo because whenever I 3bet a short stack they always end up all in with a high pocket pair.

Is this something I shouldn't be doing, or something I should be doing but maybe not so extremely?

Heh, as I'm typing this I 3bet someone with AKs who has 25bb and he actually calls instead of raising all-in and then, omg, actually folds during the hand with only about 10bb behind.

Their range is a bunch wider than AQo, 3-bet and get all-in. It adds volatility but you're ahead so often here.

Would it be a bit extreme to just push all in when there's only myself and the shortstack still in the pot preflop with any good hands?

It can't hurt if you're in the BB and they raise. They'll call a LOT lighter than you think.

not at all. I punish the [censored] out of them for trying to short-stack in my game. I'm the only one allowed to do that.
