Default PL08 $2/$4 hand

I played this hand last night and wondered what people thought of this play. As you can see, I was the BB and I flopped the underboat, but at that point only quads can beat me, as I have all the matching undercards (all 3 sixes) in my hand. I figured with 6 players in I could get action around to me with possibly a pot bet from a "naked" 8 and maybe a low draw caller, and that with a pot re-raise I could take it down or at least be a favorite against the range of probable hands, and force someone to make an uncomfortable call. As it turned out, I was against one of the relatively worst case scenarios, in that the player with an 8, AND A2 is correct to call me. Even so, 2 dimes had me as a slight favorite.

Does anyone think I misplayed this, if so, what do you think is a better line, and why?

This is one of those spots that just kind of suck.

The reason I say it sucks, is, because you can't improve any further, but at the same time you have a strong, but very vulnerable hand.

The problem I see here is that the hands you want to call wont, and the few hands that you dont want to call will.

That being said, you played optimally, getting the money in when it mattered, and, it was just a cold deck.

You were up against a nearly-worst-case hand and were still a favorite... how can you question your line? It's either open-fold if you're a total pussy, or get as much in on the flop as possible.

You see it the way I did, but there was one post either self-deleted or deleted by me accidentally by PHIL that indicated that he thought I should have tried to build a pot with a medium sized bet.

I tend to get kinda shovey at the (higher) limits so I was curious what others thought.

If that is the case then I lead out here 1/2 pot and hope to get some callers in front or something like that, hope that MP 1 just calls and even if he does raise, smooth call. But since u checked this flop, i think that raising is the right idea here because it seems like MP1 has an A8 at least, but probably has another low card and you want to try and get the money in while you can scoop and not when he is freerolling to a scoop on you.

Interesting hand. This is a really rare situation. I think the only street where I would ever feel comfortable commiting a significant amount of money into the pot would be on the flop. Check-raising makes sense then, since that's your only way to get the most amount of money into the pot when you know you're ahead. Building a pot leaves you out of position facing a deck in which every single turn and river card are scare cards for you.
