Default Chinatown bus to and from Foxwoods?

I live in Manhattan and my buddies are from Boston. I'm heading to Boston by bus this weekend for a birthday on Saturday then me and a couple of friends will be driving to Foxwoods on Sunday to play a little poker. Now here's the dilemma, I need to get back to Manhattan somehow and I heard about the Chinatown/Flushing bus that goes to and from Foxwoods from NY. I've tried to google it but I can't find a website or any schedule information. Does anyone have any specific information, bus schedule regarding this bus? Any alternatives? If not, I'll just have to rent a car for the day.

thanks.

Metro-North
212-532-4900 or 800-638-7646
http://www.mta.info

The MTA Metro-North departs daily from selected Manhattan and Bronx stations. Metro-North will transport you to New Haven, where you may board a bus to Foxwoods. You will receive a Casino Bonus Value Package.
Depart Arrive in New Haven
Grand Central Station 1 hour, 45 minutes
125th Street Station 1 hour, 35 minutes
Fordham Station 1 hour, 55 minutes
The bus trip from New Haven lasts 1 hour, 30 minutes.

Don't take the Chinatown bus. The risk to your safety/potential lost time due to breakdown isn't worth saving $5.

Once at Foxwoods you can get info at their bus depot. Though I would do it in person rather than calling them - they got it wrong over the phone...

Also, take it easy on Al. He is one of the funnier posters in B&M.

ok I just called Metro-North and they discontinued the bus from Foxwoods to New Haven lol.

Greyhound does have a direct bus from Foxwoods to Manhattan thought for $25 one-way but would take about 3 hours long.

Given that it takes 2.5 hours to drive, I wouldn't expect to find a way to get back to New York faster than three hours unless you rent a car. The Metro North used to be 3 hours 15 minutes (1h30 on the bus plus 1h45 on the train).

Another fast way to get to NYC is to catch a taxi from Foxwoods to the New London Amtrak station (approx. $30) and then take Amtrak to Penn Station (fare varies with the time of day, but never less than $50). It's expensive, but will take less than three hours and is a lot pleasanter than the bus.

Finally, Amtrak offers combined bus-rail tickets that will get you all the way to/from Foxwoods, with a transfer at New London. These are only slightly more expensive than the train ticket alone. However, they tend to include a long layover at the New London station.

Enjoy the Woods.
