Sweet, so glad that they extended this package. My birthday is July 2nd, so hoping for some luck from that.

The only thing that sucks is that I will be going to a wedding June 30 and then have to drive 10 hours on July 1st and get there before 8 to register for the tourney, should be interesting.

You wouldn't happen to live in the Denver area, do you?

I'm doing the same thing driving down from Denver (and while I've not done it before, I hear it's about a 10 hr drive), but I'll be driving down on Friday, June 29th and staying elsewhere the first few nights.

Steamboat Springs.

Have done the drive 5 or 6 times now, every time comes in right around 10 hours for me. I take 40 west to Craig, then 13 to Rifle, then the same route as you - 70 to the 15. Being 3 to 3 1/2 hours out from Denver, it wouldn't save me that much time to fly, so I've been sticking with the driving option.

y'all being from Denver, you wouldn't happen to know 'the duck lady'? A woman that plays with a beanie baby duck (although she says that it's a platypus) at the table?

Naw, I don't know her, but then the Casino's are about 40 miles each way from where I live.

Then add to that, with the max bet here in colorado stuck at 5 bucks per bet, I just can't see myself driving on a regular basis up the mountain (to Blackhawk and Central City) just to play 2/5 limit, aka no fold 'em hold 'em (or bingo) poker, with the suck out artists there.

The ironic thing is, between the two cities which are really in many ways one city, there must be about 50 to 75 (or more) Casinos, and not ONE of them is a Harrah's Property.

I'll have to watch for the duck though, the next time I go up there and play in a tourney at the Gilpin.

FYI, someone I know has a simular situation and had that that problem, inquired about it, and was told that they will also have a registration session starting at 10am on Monday July 2nd.

However, I didn't hear this myself, so please don't take it as gospel there.

Thanks for this info, I just called the Rio to confirm and they will be reopening registration at 10 am on the 2nd, 1 hour before the tournament is scheduled to start. This removes a lot of stress from July 1 for me, although I still hope to make it down before registration closes that night.

I was lookin at these monthly charts and came up with $140 avg hence the savings of $30

https://www.harrahs.com/Availability...;numChildren=0

and taylor.. 1 in 200 is assuming everyone's skill level is exactly the same, no?

Call me befuddled..

Actually if you take full advantage of the package and stay 4 nights (1st & 2nd for $250 total, 3rd & 4th for $60 each), it averages out to $92.5 per night (plus tax, etc.) This is less than is being offered to WSOP entrants ($109 for weeknights).

If you factor into that a $50 tournament buy-in (200x$50=$10,000 with no juice) that drops the average daily rate to $80 a night. This value assumes that the 'River of Dreams' tournament is not too much of a turbo-luckfest. Even if it is, at worst you're getting a 1 in 200 lottery ticket.

Adding to that the cash payout and the potential for chop-age at the end, it looks pretty sweet to me. Basically it 'prices me in' to head back down to LV for more WSOP side game action while staying at the Rio (major convenience factor)!

Any 2+2ers there be sure and give me a 'sup bro'. I'll be the donk in the Hawaiian shirt with the bar code tattoo on his wrist.

Just out of curiosity, how many here have booked the package and are planning on playing in this event this weekend?
