Default [PS $12/6] Push pf from BB... or \"check-&-go\"?

Sorry for no converter -- doing this at work from memory.

Five remain, two pay. I had just lost a big beat and was down to t370, blinds at 50/100. I'm in BB for 100 so I have only t270 behind. I pick up J4o. There is one limper (CO, somewhat loose and limpy but not extraordinarily so) and it gets to me.

Now, what are your thoughts in this desperate spot as to the relative value of pushing pre-flop vs. just checking and pushing any flop?

Thanks,

Matt

The advantage gained from the check-n-go is minimal but there is no real disadvantage as far as I can see, so why not. This assumes that CO has a stack which make calling your all-in preflop a no-brainer - which of course means that, more than likely, calling post flop will be a no brainer too. But somewhere in there, there are a few combinations of stack size, holding and flop that might get a fold post-flop. There's also the slight chance that his cat will choose just that moment to knock over the lampstand and cause him to miss his chance to call...as I said - minimal.

Yea. Pushing preflop would be pointless. You have zero fold equity. Even if you have 1% fold equity postflop you gain. Not to mention you could hit the flop.
