Re: .50/1 to 10/20? How Long?
The learning and patience replies are right on the money. With a little luck and good cards you can propel a small bankroll up very quickly to have enough to play 10/20. I started 5/10 about a year ago with a borderline-safe bankroll and ran extremely hot over 15k hands. I was about to start 10/20 until I screwed myself with cashouts.
Now I'm back to playing 3/6 in the rebuilding BR phase, and I've realized that I have quite a bit more learning to do as far as strategy goes. Just because you run hot or have the money to play 10/20 doesn't mean you are a good enough player to be there. I'm kind of glad I'm back down in limits, I don't think I would do very well at 10/20 at the moment. |

[ QUOTE ]
what's so special about 10-20? When you start playing 10 all you want to do is play 15 and 20. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, then you have months like my February where you win 3 BB/100 at 10/20 and still feel like crap about your damn breakeven month because 15/30 and 20/40 beat your a$$ in. |

I did it in about two months, but I suggest a little longer.

Re: .50/1 to 10/20? How Long?
log 1000 hands a day and it'll take you some months. Specially if you run good.
Log 500 a day, take you longer. Be risky and you may hit 10/20 in a few months of lose your whole role. Depends upon the person, took me about 6months to go from 0.02/.04 to $.5/1 Others started at .5/1 and got to 5/10 when i got to .5/1. Starting at .5/1 is a big advantage if your rushing to get into a "nice waged" game. I'm proud of my grind Most people just deposit a chunk load of cash. |
