Dennis Miller was funny as hell but way too above the rim for mainstream football fans. His job was tougher considering ABC left MNF out to dry that year with one of the worst broadcast schedules ever. But Dennis articulated ideas well and blended perfectly with Dan Fouts & Al Michaels (and I'm no Al Michaels fan). This was the last great MNF broadcast crew, imo, and the best since Howard Cosell & Don Meredith.

Also, he never reps philly [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, this is pretty much the consensus. He studies a lot of film, offers actual insight, and isn't afraid to go against the grain when he has a strong opinion. I think he's great. As was mentioned, most people seem to like that he isn't a homer, but he does still talk about Philly some, and clearly roots for them, so I'm not sure how much more you want. His voice is sorta odd at times but I dig it...I suppose that's just personal taste.

Does anyone else think it's possible that it's just the ESPN producers telling Kornheiser to act like a crazy idiot? He even seems to talk with a different voice on MNF. There's a lot of similarities between his persona and Norman Chad's.

But yeah, Kornheiser needs to stumble upon this thread and hopefully realize that he would be doing a great public disservice to not step the [censored] down, hopefully before next Monday. You know, for personal reasons.

Irvin and Smith saying retarded things, Young calling them idiots, Kornheiser attempting to make a retarded joke that bombs, the whole crew pausing for a second at the retardedness of it, rinse and repeat. Also Emmitt could do play by play for added hilarity.
