Limping PF then facing raise from right

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
Hero calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, SB completes, <font color="#CC3333">BB (Villain) raises</font>, Hero ???


I think this is a leak for me because I have no idea on how to react here. I hate to call this, but I always do (and then beat my head on the table). I like the relative position on Villain, but I'm not sure if there will be overcallers behind me (or even a 3-bet). I'm not sure if I like 3-betting this myself, and I hate to fold it.

What would your response be?

In this case, Villain is fairly loose and passive. How does your response change if Villain is tight? What if he is loose and aggressive?

How would your response change if you were in late position instead of early position?

How would your response change if you knew you would get overcallers or if everyone else would fold to the PF raiser?

How would your response change if your QT was suited?

If villain was super laggy and the QT was suited I'd probably call.

Typically I would fold QT from UTG as well, but the table was loose enough that I felt it was an okay play.

If you limped this PF in the first place i dont see how you can fold for 1 more bet. You're getting 6:1 (or is it 7:1?) and the 3 other limpers generally call as well.

Limping with QTo under the gun is a serious leak. Don't play that hand unless you're the CO or Button and the pot hasn't been raised.

However, now that you've limped, you're getting good odds so you almost have to call BB's raise.

Fold preflop.

Limping and folding to a raise is almost never right. Basically, after you limp, and it comes back to you for one more, always call.

If any of the players to your left are aggressive I would fold, otherwise call and hope none of the limpers reraise.

FWIW I do not play QTo from UTG - just CO and BTN. I'd play QTs from UTG.

Fold preflop. QTo is a very marginal hand, play it only from LP if noone raised (and be vary of tight limpers in front of you).

If you limped accidentally and someone raised and its 1 bet back to you, you simply have to call this. There is too much money in the pot already to fold.

If it's 2 back to you fold.

You have to fold QTo preflop, you lose a lot of money with this hand in this position.


Even QTs is scary, most likely a fold in common Micro Limit holdem game, you do not want to have throw 2 bets in preflop.

But one more question, at the risk of sounding like a LAG - Would 3-betting this be an option if I knew the limpers behind me would fold and I could isolate? Or would that just be throwing away more money?
