Outside of the argument of how good Chambers is, how can you give up a second round pick for him? Add this with the fact that AJ Smith is going to let Turner walk without compensation in the off season, its pretty obvious Smith is making moves to keep his job that are going to hurt a team with a great young nucleus in the long term.

I think the Dolphins have a great strategy here.

1) Use a top 10 pick on an average WR
2) Trade your best WR for a 2nd round pick
3) Profit!

lol. chris chambers is making 7.3mil this year and his worth is nowhere near that. your post is pretty dumb.

I guess I should have worded it better, some people think he his a bad extremely overrated, some people think he is decent/average, and a couple people think he is pretty good, but it doesn't seem like many people think he is a huge gamebreaking wr. Teams usually don't trade 2nd rounders for WR's with big contracts and multiple issues like Chambers.

My point was pretty much that even if you think he is a good wr, you can still say that they overpaid for him when you take into account his age, lack of consistent production, contract, and the fact hes only had 1 really good season. If that is still confusing than just disregard the whole point, I guess I need a nap.

for the record, I think that a 2nd rounder was too much.

however, when the Chargers made this deal they knew that Parker was going on IR. they probably wanted to make a trade before going public with that info, and also it means they were pretty desperate.

it's rly easy to see why they traded for chambers:

1. they likely overrated his skills a bit, but are taking for granted the high probabiltiy that he will likely improve playing with insane talent around him (o-line, qb, te, rb) and he is a playmaker that just makes their goal line offense even better
2. want to make the playoffs and also realize their window of opportunity is now
3. since their window of opportunity is now they are discounting the low-2nd round pick they are giving up

decent trade for chargers, great trade for mia

At first I thought, "This doesn't really deserve a thread and should be in the NFL or fantasy threads." Now I'm amazed that this one somewhat minor trade garnered over 50 responses.

They have a young QB, young WR, young TE, young RB, young defense. Their window is now... how exactly? I'd say their window is 2-3 years from now as long as they manage to hold on to some of the pieces, since NE and Indi will be declining.

Uh, the Chargers have their core team locked up long-term... there really aren't going to be any roster spots for draft picks next season. That's why they gave up a ton for Weddle this draft as well.
