im curious what everyone thinks of this play, just as a reality check b/c i received 3 comments in the chat window calling me a donkey. my intuition was that its a clear push... the game theoretic model im working on says the same... but it never hurts to confirm...

blinds are 100/200. there are 191 people left. the big stack has 15700, the avg stack is 4209. ive been noticeably tight at this table (ie TOTALLY card dead), even so far as folding from sb with only 6bb when it had been folded to me in the previous round (i had 53o) with bb shwoing 23o to the table.

i am utg with QJs. i have 1005 chips. i autopush. when i lose the hand (the button had AKs and ace-high held up) and am eliminated, everyone wonders why the tight donkey pushed queen high from under the gun. is it me?

Anyway you M is 3. This is a clear push for me.

Nah, you have to make a stand. It sucks to have to make it UTG with Queen-high, but at least you've got some face cards that are coordinated for straight and flush possibilities.

With only 5BB's left, you have to make a stand, might as well do it there. The only thing I would recommend is not getting so low in chips that you're in that spot. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Oh yeah, and the biggest donkies of all are the players who try to educate others to play better. Why would you possibly want to improve your competitions skill level????

I think a more interesting question for the forum is who would have pushed the 5 high.
Does Bodog have antes?

they do have huge antes, but they hadn't kicked in yet. and yes, this was a rarity for me... just had NO chance to get in an unopened pot for 3 rounds before this with anything remotely pushable (except the aformentioned 53o, which i considered quite strongly).
