Because you have to fold to a raise and they will often raise you with air. If you had AA instead of JJ here you would not be donking the flop and he knows that. The same goes for a set ...

However, if you decide to play your hand and check raise him, you will get AK to fold (or push and you call which is alright) and might even get QQ to fold thinking that the only hand he has beat is JJ.
