Tough 15/30 hand
Live 15/30
I have 77 and open raise in the HJ. The only thing resembling a TAG 3-bets next in. Everyone folds to me and I call. TAG's range is 77+, ATo+, ATs+, KJs+, KJo+. Flop: J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] : Whats our plan for this hand? |

Re: Tough 15/30 hand
I seriously consider capping preflop depending on image/history/table conditions.
My standard line is to check raise the flop, but that's more of habit and not well-thoughtout. Can someone explain the benefits of donking the turn. Just to force hands like AT to fold instead of allowing them to check behind? |

[/ QUOTE ] Against more aggressive players I would check/call donk turn so that we don't get outplayed by someone 3-betting us on the flop. Against more passive players, I check-raise donk because if they go nuts on you, you know they have you beat. |

Re: Tough 15/30 hand
By C/R this flop you are representing a hand like AJ/KJ/QJ. Villain will not be able to call the turn with what he thinks is a 3 out hand. We also put 88/TT in a spot to make a major mistake.
We should be prepared for a flop 3-bet and what our action will be. This of course will be player depended. A default line against unknowns could be to call the 3-bet, c/call turn, c/f river assuming the turn is a safe card. Your default line should be geared toward the general aggressiveness/straightforwardness of the games you play. |

Re: Tough 15/30 hand
Ok, I check/called the flop, planning to donk a safe turn.
Turn: 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Do I now check/fold? Check/call? I don't like either option. |
