How do you combat pesky squeezers?
$2/$4 No Limit Hold'em Ring Game
6 Players LegoPoker Hand Converter Stack Sizes SB: $479.3 (HolezLikeSwiss, 31 ATSB) BB: $329.1 UTG: $545.10 MP: $400 Hero (CO): $407.70 BTN: $499.10 Preflop: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($6, 6 players) UTG folds, MP folds, Hero raises to $14, BTN calls $14, SB raises to $69, BB folds, Hero wants to re-steal, but is chicken. If you do play back with less than QQ/AK here, which hands do you use? I guess AQ would be the wrong hand to do it with, since you are effectively "turning your hand into 72o", so you should use something worse? Something else I've been trying is occasionally smooth-calling a raise when I'm in LP with AK/KK/AA, when the BSB/BB are the squeezy types. It hasn't come up often enough for me to evaluate it though. |

You've only risked $14, wait until you get better cards to re-raise and his move will be -ev

Re: How do you combat pesky squeezers?
you can raise to 150 and not fold if he shoves (to be consistant with what you do with QQ.
s00do aces have like 30% equity against any range someone could put together. |

Re: How do you combat pesky squeezers?
This isn't complicated if you think he's squeezing wide 4bet. Otherwise fold.

I used to scared of doing this, but I tried it half a dozen times against guys who I knew should fold, and it worked.

Re: How do you combat pesky squeezers?
This is not a good spot to 4-bet to like $150, because you put yourself in a bad spot (mathematically, anyway) when he shoves on you. You let him force you into a lose lose situation.
If you're going to 4-bet this, you should either make it real small ($100-$111), which has a few benefits, and lets you easily get away, or just shove it, like you would with AK. |

[/ QUOTE ] well, raising to 110 is a min 4 bet, which is ugly, and I am the minraise champ, but this is an aweful spot for it. and the only benefit to shoving is to maximize your FE, but I think a 4 bet to 150-160 will look scarier, and its effectively a shove if your calling anyways, and your opponent knows that. |
