Table change question

Sorry - having trouble searching for this - when you ask to change tables in a max buy-in game, would your stack at the new table be limited to that max buy-in?

If its a player request, you are limited to the max buy-in. If it is a broken game they may let you move the whole stack.

Thats incorrect , sir. Every casino Ive ever played in, if you change tables and are still playing the same stakes you are not only allowed to, but required to bring your whole stack.

If this wasnt a rule, you could change tables every time you wanted to rathole some money. If you had $1500 on a $500 max buy in table and wanted to pocket some money, you could change tables and only bring $500 to the new table.

Well this should be a good thread, different rules at different casinos. At my local casino I have seen players arguing with the floor over this, but the floor will not let you go to another table with your full stack bigger than the max buy-in.

Its a different story if you try to reduce your stack at the same table, such as by leaving and trying to return before a few hours pass.

So what?
You won the $1000 off the players on Table 1. Why do you have to give the players on Table 2 a shot at that money?

When you change tables, do you have to post like a new player?
When you change tables, do you need the minimum buy-in like a new player?

Incorrect as well, sir. At most casino's in LA you can only bring over to the new table the table max - even at the same limits, unless from a broken game.
