What does everyone think of the turn bet? I used to fire again in this situation most times, but I'm beginning to think it's spew, because this seems to be the result most of the time (and villain has me beat if I do call the river).

Normally I like to second barrel when scare cards hit on turn that easily could ve helped me but I'm not sure in this spot. Problem is that villain could easily have a big hand already, something like a set or even a made straight, and slowplaying such a hand does not happen to rarely at NL25 if I remember right.

I suck at this game, so I post to learn, not to give advice, so in that spirit...

I would think that the argument to fire the turn here would be to fold out hands that are currently behind by that could easily catch up on the river (KQ,KJ,etc.)

I think it's not an obvious situation.

Turn bet is meant to fold out hands he could have floated with that could catch up on the river. I think a turn bet is fine in moderation, but river is a c/f.

I would check the turn and as played fold river.

I wouldn't shoot second barrel against this villain - he is totally unknown. Use 2-nd barrel vs known villains who have low CBET fold% but huge TURN fold% - villains who floating lot.

Turn bet is one of those plays where you feel great when it works and like a spewy donk when it doesn't. I like to have a read when doing this at NL25.

We've all run into those days where every c-bet gets called and you've just had enough and start trying to knock donks off of hands. I've been trying lately to play the player in these situations. If I don't have an indication they can fold I won't do it much if ever.
