Space - sure Shatner and Nimoy are around, but McCoy, Scotty, and Sulu are currently in the ground, somewhere around Venus, and out of the closet, respectively.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm pretty sure George Takai is still alive.

Considering he was in an episode of Heroes about four months ago, I would imagine this is true.

e: I think he means that McCoy is dead and buried, Scotty got launched into space (literally), and Sulu's gay. But I don't think having the gay is going to stop him from being in it.

I'm not a huge Star Trek fan (I do think Wrath of Khan was one of the best sci-fi/action movies ever made, though), but this seems to be an awful idea.

[/ QUOTE ]

The Wrath of Khan is easily the best of the Star Trek movies and, as you said, one of the great science fiction/action movies of all time. As for this being an awful idea, I can't agree. I am all for anything that brings that old crew back together for one last hurrah. I am especially looking forward to seeing Nimoy's Spock, again. Spock rocks so much.

I just hope this project gets handled with class and not mangled. The last two Star Trek series make me ill.

The last two seasons of Enterprise were a vast improvement and were actually quite good. The final episode was horrible, but other then that, its certainly worth checking out.

Do we care what JJ Abrams does just because of Lost? Nothing else on his imdb is really that impressive: some Felicity, some Alias, a writing credit on MI3...

[/ QUOTE ]

Abrams directed MI3
