poker in prague

anyone know anything about any poker games going on in prague cuz im here right now and am looking for a decently high stakes game to play in to pay for this trip.

Look for Hilton hotel, there are usually tables there (mostly limit though).
It's near the Florence metro station.

There is also casino called Alex on Vaclav's square, which sometimes has an NL table, but it doesn't run frequently.

Yea Hilton has a 100-200KC Blind game which is like 5-10USD (its limit). I played there once and theres a lot of craziness. There's also an option for a PL game NLHE but when I was there not enough people wanted to play it.

I was in prague this spring and last summer. The hilton game is supersoft, but about the only poker you will find in town.

I was in Prague about a year ago (feb 2006) and me and my friend found a small casino where we were told most of the poker action was. There were some real characters in that game, for example a russian mafia guy (real nice though) with an envelope that contained a lot of money.

The club had 3 tables and the service was great. They ordered in whatever food you wanted and the only in-house thing you had to pay for was cigarettes.

The action was extremely loose and there was a mix of good and terrible players. The terrible players seemed to be criminals in one way or another. In despite of this, the atmosphere was great and I can really recommend paying a visit to this club.

Unfortunately I can not remember the name of the club, but if you hear about a place like this there is no need to be worried about your security.

It was the Golden Prague casino. Fun place with a nice decor. They moved the opperation to the Hilton.

there is also the barca club, right next to tgI fridays in the center,they might have a table going on the weekends, usually 100kc-200kc

Hilton has supersoft limit games and a little bit tougher tournaments (some local semi-pros are participating)on Thursday and Saturday, if I'm not mistaken. I've been there in August.
