Aces in the big blind Stars 100/200 vs Lagerborg
6 handed 100/200 game.
Lagerborg raises in cutoff, Donald from Oslo 3 bets on button. I cap with black aces from the big blind, both call. Flop Qh6dKd I bet, Lagerborg raises, Donald calls 2 cold, I 3 bet, both call. Turn Qd Who wants to do what? I checked, Lag bet, Donald folded. Call or fold? Raising seems pointless. |

Re: Aces in the big blind Stars 100/200 vs Lagerborg
I would not fold here. AK is still possible. I do not play in the stars 1/2 so I cannot really add more based on reads, but generally speaking I think this is a call down (there certainly are players I would still consider putting in a rasie against, but that would be far from standard).
If you were Lager with AK there wouldn't you put in a bet? I think most rasies in this scenario would be pretty honest given the pot is three way with a pre flop coldcapper/flop 3 bettor still to act (meaning if it was AK no diamond for LAger, he could bet and fold to a raise and a call from you). |

Don't fold, pot is large, couldn't he have just a king here?

You should bet the turn and take it from there. Don't give a free card or allow yourself to get squeezed. You might as well put pressure on Donald or Lager and your bet best does this, especially if you will lead and three-bet some other hands. Depending on who raised me, I would consider just calling or re-raising it heads-up, but that depends on how the game has been playing. I would call if I just checked, but that would never happen.

I like the turn check, and IMO you got the best possible result, check call check call seems pretty good, i think he will value bet AK on the river |

I guess I just thought if 2 bets went in on this street, I was almost certainly in very bad shape. So I figured I'd let someone else bet it. I did the standard check and call down, by the way. I also wanted to mention that I never actually considered folding, and then afterwards the fact that I didn't even think about it was a bad thing. |

Re: Aces in the big blind Stars 100/200 vs Lagerborg
It seems to me that a) someone will bet this turn and b) it doesn't seem likely that your bet would get a diamond to fold that won't fold if someone else bets. Therefore checking and calling has the advantage that you can't be raised, and if it goes bet-raise you can fold, since the raiser is supposedly loose passive.
If there is a chance of a free card, I think you should bet. If you think someone will fold a hand with significant outs because YOU, the preflop capper etc., have continued firing, then I think you should bet. But it doesn't really look like that's the case here. |
