Default Chiprunner income(LC)

Was just wondering if there are any chipruners here. If there aren't, anybody know about how much loot a typical LA rea runner makes in tips? I always flip em a buck when I buy but a lot players never do. I have seen a few who get more from regs than the pedestrian players.

PS. Not looking to become one just curious.

I don't know about LA, but I actually asked one yesterday. He said $9/hr + tips (SF), and I said what does that come to $20/hr? And he nodded. This thread was well worth the 500 post milestone I've now reached =).

$20/hr isn't bad to be a runner. If thats what he really makes.

I don't know exact numbers, but they do pretty well for what they do. I have seen chip runners at Commerce doing it for years. I have also seen some chip runners become dealers, floor people, and in one case, a cocktail waitress at a strip club

If I had to guess, I'd take a stab at $13-22 an hour including tips with the added benefit of being able to not report some of it for tax purposes. That number is for the large Los Angeles rooms only. I tipped a chip runner at Wynn once and you would have thought he hadn't been tipped in years.

At Cherokee the dealers double as chiprunners on a rotational basis. Ocassionally a floorperson will chiprun if he is nearby. I always chip a buck even when I just made change for another player and end up being the one getting the chips for cash exchange.

From my experience the chiprunners dont generally make much money. When we used to have them at my place all the chip runners couldnt wait to move on to other positions since they only made about $8 or $9/hr and then would make about $10 or $20 a day in tips. Not very good.

Chip Runners in LA rarely make any significant tokes. Maybe $20 or so. However, chip runners in small indian casinos that getting toked by dealers can make $100+ in tokes.

I tip chiprunners about $5 per day, so assuming every player tips $1 when they rebuy like I do, my guess is they make around $200 per hour...

DC--

You're in a special situation. Whatshisname, Ryan if I recall, who works at CAZ, is hands-down the best chip runner I've ever seen, and probably the best in the history of poker. He's gotten a lot of tips from me.
