Default Live 10/20 Commerce

10/20 NL at Commerce

I've been in the game for only 1 or 2 rounds. No real reads.

I have $2100 and Villain covers by a lot.

Folded to me in the cutoff. I open to $100 with KhQh. Villain calls on the button.

Flop ($230): 3c7h9h
I lead $200. Villain calls.

Turn ($630): 3c7h9h Ts
I check? Villain bets $450. I think and call?

River ($1530): 3c7h9hTs Kc
I check. Villain bets $750 with a pink 5k chip.

After I think for ~10 sec he says "you didnt suck out on the river did you?"

I don't like the way I played this hand, I was wondering what a good line would be.

Thanks

As played, I definitely call the river. I like the check on the river there.

Alternate lines would be to CR semi-bluff the turn, or to lead the turn. Both would be acceptable. I don't usually like check-calling the turn in these types of spots.

bet/fold river would be best, if you had more of a stack.

c/r turn is better than c/c, but is obviously a high-variance play. leading out turn kinda sucks.

I don't like your turn line at all here. You're giving away any chance at just taking the pot down (which I think is pretty good since you're getting floated quite a bit on the flop there) and you're also pretty much telegraphing a draw with the bet, check/call line given stack sizes. You're going to have a really hard time getting paid off if a heart hits the river.

I think I'd have to agree with most of the other posters here and suggest a C/R. If you bet, villian can easily push you all-in making the hand play effectively the same when villian has a good hand. However, when villian's weak, you'll still get a bet on the turn the vast majority of the time, so you'll make more when you take the pot down.

Thanks for the input. I also don't like the c/c on the turn. I think a c/r would have been better.

I ended up folding to the river bet, he didn't show.
