JJ faces turn donkbet

i have no read on my opponent and am totally lost here. i figured i'd just call the turn in case it's a bluff and since i probably would have bet about $8 if he had checked. river seemed like an easy fold. what you make of his gaybet? i'm thinking he had a K but why play it this way?

Do you think UTG would take a c/c + lead 2/3pb with an 8 or 6? I would've folded turn.

If I was UTG and I had a K, I know that you're probably going to c-bet into the pot. If I lead into you on the flop, I'm going to get any non-K's to fold so instead I c/c + lead turn because I don't want you checking behind.

The river AI could mean a lot of hands, but I don't think you're beating any of them.

i actually did think that. there are a lot of lags at party $50. folding just felt so weak, as well, and i couldn't fathom why he'd play it that way.
