Default If you play poker for a living and are in college...

do you plan to go to grad school? I'm talking about if you are making enough money that you don't 'need' a job after college, does grad school interest you enough?

for me, im approaching an important decision in my life where i have to choose whether or not to go to grad school. if i choose to do so, then i'd probably have to try extra hard this year (i am a junior) so i could get into some place good. my undergrad major is philosophy, but i'd like to do something involving physics. that is my other concern, can something like that be pulled off? anyone else have a similar dilemma? comments?

I am going to go to medical school, and I currently beat mid/high limit poker.

I am pretty sure I make more than 90% of doctors.

are you doing that for the money though? because i hear med school is a huge ordeal. will being a doctor satisfy you more than playing poker for a living?

I'm going into my sophomore year at harvard - a lot of the people around me know exactly what they're doing, but I have no clue. I would be a lot more distressed about this if I hadn't discovered that I can make a lot of money at poker over the past 6 months, but it's still fairly worrying, as I can't imagine I would be happy playing poker for the rest of my life, as much as I enjoy it. I declared a major in statistics because I'm good at math and am interested in science (more the scientific method than any specific science actually). If I had to guess I'd say I will probably go to graduate school, but I really don't know.

anyway, in your case I would reccommend putting in the extra effort this year. I'm sure you can still make a ton of money playing poker without letting it take priority over your schoolwork.

I'm making a "decent" living for now, which is about 2 or 3 times of what I'd make out of grad school... but still I don't see why you shouldn't go. I'm entering grad school next year and I'm not looking back, I have the easy way by being able to pay my way through college easily while still living well.
