Re: 5.50$ stars TT, fold overpair?
I'm in favor of raising to 1.6k preflop because you and the button are pretty deep and I wouldn't mind ending the hand now being oop. I don't understand the check/raise unless villain is laggy post flop, I prefer to lead out, it would be a sin to let a spade or big card hit the turn for free. This low you could be up against tp, 99-77, fd, sd enough to put it in here. His weak post flop bet in a vacume usually means villain has a draw, nothing, or something like 44-22. You check raise, then he reraises, at this point he either has a draw or trips, I ship it.

Re: 5.50$ stars TT, fold overpair?
I think we need to pay attention to his flop 3-bet.
We have more than 30 BB, and we're OOP. Yes it's an overpair, yes he can conceivably do this with a 6 or a flush draw or something... but at the end of the day it's a marginal holding in a dangerous spot up against the ONE guy we don't want to mess with unless we're monstrous. Plus we're OOP. I hate it, and I probably couldn't do this on the felt, but I think we need to c/r-fold to a 3-bet, because the 3-bet commits stacks, and we don't want to play for stacks here. |

Re: 5.50$ stars TT, fold overpair?
I also don't think our 4-bet has much fold equity.
Maybe you could check-raise more than pot instead of less than pot to see if he REALLY wants to commit, and let him know you're not just check-raising a flop bet. But still fold to the 3-bet. You're betting is screaming overpair anyway. |

Re: 5.50$ stars TT, fold overpair?
I'm with TJ on this one, I think folding to the three-bet is a good line, and I would have preferred raising out and three betting him if he re-raised us, and folding if he pushed.

Re: 5.50$ stars TT, fold overpair?
Interesting. He's got a big stack, so presumably you should know something about how he got it. Also, limping from the button is rather odd. TJ makes a good point about the stack sizes here. That being said, at $5 i've seen this be KQs and A9 plenty of times. If I saw him being stupid to get that big stack, I'd definitely look him up here. If not, I wouldn't.

Re: 5.50$ stars TT, fold overpair?
From his preflop play I would set him on a PP or SC.
His flop-bet is weak, so raising is fine. BTW I also think that you should have bet this flop. So the only hands I would be affraid of are 66,55 and maybe JJ. But I think most of the time this is a draw, so I think you have to push as you did. |
