Unconfirmed rumor regarding Chexx Inc

I received a Chexx check today for an amount under $1,000. I've read through much of this thread, but since the majority of its content is a week or so old, I thought I'd ask:

What's my best play for cashing/depositing the check, and how long should I expect to wait to have the funds?

-Deposit to one of my checking accounts?

if this, should I try and cash it or deposit it? If deposit it, shuold I go through a teller or through the ATM?

-Go to Moneygram/Western Union to cash it?
-Go to shady Check cashing place to cash it?

I received a Chexx check today for $2k. It was dated 2/5/07 and was drawn on "US Bank".

I just dropped it by the bank today in the night deposit box, and hopefully it clear pretty quickly.

Go to the bank. Deposit the COMPLETELY STANDARD check, drawn on a United States bank, into your checking account, just like any other check. Use the teller or ATM, whichever you feel like doing.

If your bank won't give you enough cash back, and you need it fast, and there is a USBank (issuing bank) branch near you, go there and they will cash it for a $5 fee.

I have no idea about the other options you mention.

The feb. 2 rumor is false

I will deposit it tommorrow, and when I due, I'm going to pretend that its a regular check, which it is. I'm going to assume that it will clear just as any other check, which will.
