Default How do electronic poker tables work?

how do you buy into the table? cash or player card from cage?

how do you protect your hand so that others cant see?

in NL, is there some kinda slider bar?

how do you know how much rake was taken?

although i assume there may be slightly more hands per hour, and until i actually play at several of them, i hope these things dont take off.

i've never played one but i figured if the hole cards were set about six inchesdown in a tunnel with glass over it then nobody could see the cards but the player.

Player card from cage

The cards are dealt to you face down. There is a "show cards" button on the touch screen. It is assumed that you'll cover the screen with your hand so only you can see the cards when you touch the "show cards" button.

For NL you use a touch screen key pad.

And they aren't taking off. One casino that had them actually took them off the floor except for a few head's up machines.

It's actually a shame, because if I ran a card room I'd go 100% electronic tables.

Currently the tables can only do flop games like hold'em & Omaha. Until they get a table that can play all the HORSE games, I doubt they'll really go anywhere.

Are you listening, PokerTek?
