I really don't think this is a good idea. The logic being "don't post this" therefore everything else is legit by default makes the most sense. Otherwise, you have to come up with every acceptable topic imaginable.

Only if you're going to view the forum in black/white and not use your human reasoning skills. :P

I like reading threads about:

1. Trip reports
2. Floor decisions / "You make the call"
3. Funny stories
4. Casino industry news
5. Vegas news

I do not enjoy reading threads about:

1. How do I... "carry money, get a room rate, find a hotel"
2. Which is the best... "200NL room, room rate"
3. Help me... "Plan my trip (do work for me)"
4. Any other threads that are started by lazy people.

[*]How much should I tip per hand[*]How much to tip in tourneys[*]How much should I tip the floor[*]How much should I tip the cage[*]How much should I tip the chip runner[*]General tipping theories

I think that in order for this forum to be successful we need at least two of these types of threads every day

Actually I think like you in this situation, but when that FAQ was created was a long time ago before 2+2 became the behemoth it is now. Therefore I'm open to sugestions!

feedback - I think the "acceptable topics" list should be a wide and vague as possible guys & gals, lets try not to be so specific. For example discussion about tournaments are ok if they are tournys regularly scheduled at a casino. But they are not ok if they are special event tournys like WPT or WSOP events (and even then its ok if your asking where to stay during the WSOP, how to get money to the casino for the tourny, or what the cash games might be like).

hope this helps!

Information, updates, and observations about what games/limits are running at the major casinos (and how many tables) are always appreciated.

You could consider separating the travel questions from the poker ones.

There is a Travel forum, so those questions could easily go there.

But when it comes to a poker destination like LV, AC, Tunica, why not let the posters combine their general travel and card room questions in one place?

the current sentiment is to move all Vegas lifestyle posts/trip reports to the Travel Forum. I think this idea has merit.
