Default Taking food away from restaurants

On Friday night I went out for a meal with my GF to an Indian restaurant. We've been to this place lots of times in the past, on one occasion the waiter came out to clear our table and saw that we had a lot of food left and asked if we'd like it boxed up to take home, I said yes so he took it into the kitchen and brought it back boxed and in a bag.
So on Friday night we order a starter each, 2 main dishes, 2 side dishes, rice and nan breads, by the time we've ate the pompadoms and starters we realise we've ordered far too much and after hardly touching the main dishes and side dishes I ask the waiter if he can box it, he says yes and dissapears into the kitchen. About 2 minutes later he returns, puts 4 of those aluminum boxes with lids and a plastic bag on the table and walks off so that I'm left to spoon the food into the containers if I want it.
Although I will take away pizza from places like pizza hut I don't do this in other types of restaurant and only asked for it here after what had happened in the past.
What would you do here? the place was really full and I felt really embarrassed.
Is this the definition of PWN3D?

I really dont get why you were embarassed? I think its a new trend to have the customers box their food, either because of health reasons??? or to let thme figure out what box they want each item in (ie if you are goign seperate ways)?

I would say you're being too sensitive here.

In a lot of places the health code doesn't allow food that has been in a customers plate to be handled in the kitchen again. This is the same reason a resturant will make a new steak/burger/etc for you if you send one back that is undercooked.
