Re: Dell 30\" Monitor Sale
[ QUOTE ]
people claiming that you need a dual dvi card to run the 30" monitor are simply wrong in reality, you need a dual-link dvi card. dual dvi means a dvi card with two dvi plugs. dual-link dvi means a dvi card that is able to run these very high resolution devices. more info is in the monitor FAQ in the computer + tech help forum. [/ QUOTE ] thanks for the correction. |

Re: Dell 30\" Monitor Sale

[ QUOTE ] Yeah in '04-'05 we used to have a new thread on here every time the dell 2001FP went on sale - so you didn't really have to bargain hunt at all. [/ QUOTE ] Yea I remember a thread in 2p2 when the dell 2001fp was going on sale for $240. Everyone was rushing to buy it including me. Now a days it's $300 but that $130 difference doesn't matter considering how much it benefited me [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: Dell 30\" Monitor Sale
[ QUOTE ]
Anyone know about this Acer unit? Seems like a steal. Acer AL2416WBSD 24-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor [/ QUOTE ] That's the monitor I'm typing on now (and which i was referring to earlier) -- I'm no techie so i can't describe just why i don't like it as much as my 24" Dell, but the picture seems just a tad less sharp, and the colors don't pop like on the Dell. Also, it doesn't rotate vertically (not that i need it to), and doesn't have the standard square-shaped thing on the back that Dells have that lets you remove the monitor from the stand and attach it to one of the Ergotron LCD arms. Actually, my 24" Dell might not have that either, since those Ergotron arms typically say they only take LCDs up to 21" Verdict: it's not bad at all - $400 well worth it. |
