Villain is very very passive so far - he hasn't raised his button yet but doesn't seem like he's "trapping" so much as accidentally signed up and is now hoping i either hang myself or he can leave. it was weird.

comments on all three streets welcomed - my thinking is it's a very dry flop so i doubt i get called if i bet. my plan was to check/call and then donk a lot of turns.

I generally fire out flops here OOP. If he's not floating you light it's going to make your river decision very hard because his range of hands is a ton wider and don't really include these dramatic weird floating hands. If you bet the flop and are called you can look at a possible range of hands and it is very small. You can then proceed to play the hand accordingly.

this one hasnt gotten much discussion maybe bc it's a really obv hand or something.

the problem for me is i think the vast majority of the time i think he's WB and will fold the flop.

checking without the intention of check/raising generally makes hands harder to play, but that would theoretically be acceptable if betting loses a lot of value.

You get your value from a 7 or 4 if he doesn't float. You also gain value by bluffing at dry flops if he's not floating with [censored].

so you're saying we should just make the habit of betting any pair and some strong draws and some bluffs OOP after villain limps as a means of balancing this bet

With your read that villain is passive and loose I would bet here all three streets and I should probably shut down if raised. I do this because the range that villain will call is wide and my top pair no kicker is ahead of it but the range he will raise with is small and beats my top pair no kicker.

I think this is a definite yes. Against loose open-limpers, I'll bet the flop OOP with any pair, any decent draw, and a few random hands just to mix it up.
