Yeah, I was going to bet turn, then thought good chance he has a ten, or 99/88, if not the flush draw. My plan was to let turn check thru. If river brought no flush, I would fold to bet or bet if checked to. This spot confused me, which maybe supports turn bet?

not after you check the turn.

who knows what he's got? probably a weak ten or maybe something like 87, 76. I'd just call and expect to scoop the 10% or whatever u need to turn a profit.

charge his flush draw or make him fold better 7, 88/99, or even weak top pair (albeit rarely).
