Re: rethinking a standard bet spot
This thread was in the back of my mind when I played this hand. Villain is excessively aggro, and I knew he would bet anything when checked to. Did I [censored] up the idea?

Re: rethinking a standard bet spot
ddub I think your line is fine against a very aggro villain, unless you have reads that he won't fire the third barrel light. So, maybe fold river if thats the case, but the rest I like.

Re: rethinking a standard bet spot
I think a more interesting question is what do you do if someone leads into you (who you know majority of his range include flush draws). Do you get it in as much as possible with him drawing dead (and also hope that he folds some of his lower kicker) or do you take the passive route and calls his barrels?

I am looking to b/3bet this flop for sure here. |

Re: rethinking a standard bet spot
Checking behind flopped flush draws last to act as the pre flop raiser is a standard mix it up play.
When you flop top pair (where the pair is J+), it becomes an even more attractive spot to employ the change up check because you still have top pair.. |
